How Toastmasters Changes Lives My mentors quickly taught me that I could make anything happen with Toastmasters. I was urged to compete and did so in many competitions. I was encouraged to take advantage of leadership opportunities. I became a club President, Area Governor, Division Governor and District Toastmaster of the Year. I was privileged to shared what I learned mentoring new clubs and members. I have met amazing people who will inspire me for the rest of my life. Because of Toastmasters I have done things I wouldn’t have imagined. I earned an MBA, ran for the Minneapolis City Council, and even found a part-time job teaching at Metropolitan State University. Of course, the best thing that happened to me at Toastmasters was marrying fellow Toastmaster Nancy Bernard in 2003. I can only imagine what awaits me during my year as Lt. Governor Marketing. Whatever happens, friends who share the same goals will be with me. Together we'll bring the benefits of Toastmasters to everyone in District 6. Has Toastmasters changed your life?
