Think back to your Toastmaster journey, how are you different from the person you were when you first joined? What value do you feel you have received on your journey?

Who were the mentors and role models you learned your skills from? How valuable was their contribution to your success?

Do you realize that as an experienced Toastmaster you have become a role model and mentor to others who have joined Toastmasters since you have? You have a golden opportunity to Make It Happen and improve the lives of others.

I invite each of you to consider coaching, mentoring, or sponsoring a club needing the benefit of your experience and knowledge.

Please contact me at lgm@d6tm.org to find out more about this opportunity.

Testimonials

In the 2005-2006 Toastmasters year, I had the opportunity to be a new club sponsor as well as a new club mentor. Both were rewarding experiences. I found the experiences not only exciting for me, personally, but also for the new members. It was especially rewarding to be part of a new venue in the community where for others can learn and practice their communication skills. Additionally, it was satisfying to teach them from my experiences. Although I was initially interested in pursuing the club requirement towards my AL, I found much more value with the new friendships that had been developed.    Brian Hinton, DTM

Serving as a mentor to a new Toastmasters club has been enormously rewarding. It is such a joy to share what I've learned through Toastmasters with others who are just starting out on that journey, and to see how quickly they become proficient, confident, and enthusiastic about giving speeches and about taking on the various roles at each meeting. It's a relatively small investment of time and effort on my part, but it has such a great impact-on me as well as on the members of the club I am mentoring. At every meeting, I truly feel that I am learning and gaining more from them than they are from me.    Betty Liedtke, CL
