Background

This award was created in memory of Past District Governor Shirley Daniel, DTM.

Shirley joined Toastmasters in April 1990.  During her many years in Toastmasters, she served in numerous Club & District Leadership Roles.  In 1997-1998, District 6 was fortunate to have her serve as the District Governor.

Wherever Shirley went, she exuded warmth and welcome to new and seasoned Toastmasters alike.  She was a welcoming committee all her own. She touched many hearts and lives as she lovingly encouraged them to step onto the path of their potential.  Her contributions were many, and there was no task that was too small for her from creating beautiful decorations for themed events to stuffing registration packets to doing whatever was necessary for a successful club or district event.  She did this with and without a title all the way up to her final days of life.

She was truly an inspiration to many.
